Britons win Sunday spring break games

NAPLES, Fla. – Grace Connolly and Estacia Martinez powered Albion College to a pair of Sunday softball victories.

Albion 8, Elms 6

Albion scored six times in the fifth inning to earn the come from behind victory. Camille Roloff drove in a run on a groundout, Connolly and Martinez added RBI singles, Lauren Beougher lifted a sacrifice fly and two runs scored when Eryn VanderVlucht had the ball off her bat misplayed in center field.

Connolly hit a RBI double as Albion plated an insurance run in the sixth.

Connolly, Martinez, Skyler Herman and Savannah Spring all collected two hits for Albion.

VanderVlucht (1-1) was the winning pitcher for Albion.

Albion 15, Penn State-Altoona 8

Albion scored seven times in the third inning and it added four in the sixth.

Connolly went 2-for-2 with a home run and five RBI. She also drew a pair of walks.

Martinez went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Morgan Deckrow, the pitcher, collected two hits and three RBI.

Herman and Spring added two RBI apiece.

Monday games

Now 2-2 on the season, Albion returns to North Collier Regional Park for games against Clark University and Kenyon College.
