NAPLES, Fla. – Lauren Beougher drove in six runs to boost the Albion College softball team to its first victory of the season, a 15-14 decision over Anna Maria College in eight innings.
A first-year catcher who prepped at Bullock Creek, Beogher hit her second homerun of the young season. It was a three-run shot.
Angela Hoffsis added three hits and four stolen bases.
Eryn VanderVlucht was the winning pitcher.
In its first game of the day, Albion battled Waynesburg University to a 1-1 tie after four innings. Waynesburg pulled away in the late innings, sending Albion to a 6-1 loss.
Hoffsis collected a hit in the game.
Albion will visit the CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers for Monday games against New Jersey City University and Rivier (N.H.) University.
