Albion Swept By Adrian In MIAA Softball Doubleheader

ADRIAN, Mich. – Rebecca Rodriguez collected two hits and a RBI and Angela Hoffsis produced a hit in each game to lead Albion College in 5-1 and 12-0 losses to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Adrian College in Friday softball action.

Game One

Albion loaded the bases with two out in the first as Kara Suwarsky drew a walk and Ashley Witkowski and Mackenzie Fairbanks hit consecutive singles. Rodriguez followed with her RBI single as the Britons took the early lead.

Adrian answered with two runs in the second and a run in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead.

Savannah Spring laid down a bunt single to leadoff the fifth inning as Albion brought the tying run to the plate, but the Britons went down in order from there.

Adrian tacked on two more insurance runs in the sixth.

Game Two

Adrian scored eight times in the first inning to gain control of the game.

Erin VanderVlucht and Rodriguez drew walks for Albion.

On Deck

Albion's doubleheader at Wilmington College on Sunday has been cancelled. The Britons return to the diamond at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for a MIAA doubleheader against Calvin College.
