Albion Softball Starts MIAA Play

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College took a pair of 8-0 losses to Alma College in the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association softball doubleheader of the season for both teams.

Game One

Mackenzie Fairbanks reached base twice with a single and a walk, Savannah Spring hit a single and Kara Suwarsky and Brianna Charron drew walks for Albion.

Danielle Service hit a two-run homerun and Anna Couture laced a two-run triple for the Scots in the fourth inning. Cassidy Tucker added a two-run single in the fifth.

Game Two

Suwarsky's single with one out in the fourth was Albion's only hit against Alma pitcher Katie McClure.

McClure received all the support she would need when Danielle Service slugged a two-run homerun in the second inning. Averi Munro also drove in two runs for the Scots.

On Deck

Albion travels to Notre Dame, Ind., for a Tuesday MIAA doubleheader with Saint Mary's College.
