LaCavera Produces RBI In Softball Doubleheader

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Albion College collected eight hits on the day in 10-2 and 9-1 losses to Kalamazoo College in the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association softball doubleheader of the season for both teams.

Albion scored a run in the first inning in both games.

Game One

Elena Luce drew a lead off walk in game one and she scored on a single by Megan LaCavera. Kalamazoo tied the score with a run in its half of the first and the Hornets tacked on four runs in the second and five runs in the fourth.

Ashley Butler produced three hits for the Britons. Her fourth-inning single scored Monica Brugnoni.

Querubin Dubois, Erin DuRoss, and Emma Patrash all collected two hits for Kalamazoo. DuRoss, Patrash and Abby Anderson each drove in two runs.

Game Two

Like game one, Luce drew a first-inning walk and scored on LaCavera's single. Luce walked twice and LaCavera had two singles. Delaney Probst collected Albion's other hit.

Kalamazoo scored in every inning except the fifth. Dubois, DuRoss, Anderson and Maddy Sinkovich all collected two hits for the Hornets. DuRoss and Sinkovich finished with two RBI apiece.

On Deck

After 16 road games, Albion is set to make its home debut. The Britons host Calvin College at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a MIAA doubleheader.
