Imbier Delivers In The Clutch

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Olivia Imbier delivered the game-winning RBI as Albion College pulled out a 6-5 victory over Westminster (Pa.) College in the opening game of its spring break trip to central Florida.

Albion had to settle for a split of its Saturday games as it dropped a 7-2 decision to Coe (Iowa) College in its second game of the day.

It was a back-and-forth game against Westminster. Albion plated two runs in the first, added three in the third and scored the game-winner in the fifth.

Delaney Probst laced a leadoff single in the fifth, and she advanced to third when Ashley Butler came through when Coach Christina Finch called for a hit-and-run. Butler collected three hits and Probst scored twice against Westminster.

Monica Brugnoni pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits and three walks.

"Everybody contributed (in the win over Westminster)," Finch said. "We completed every inning."

Butler and Brugnoni produced RBI hits against Coe.

Albion is scheduled to meet a pair of Ohio teams – the College of Mount Saint Joseph and Defiance College – on Sunday.
