Senior pitcher Erin Giannotta scattered two singles in pitching her first shutout of the season and sophomore Stefano Russo delivered her first game-winning RBI of the season as Albion College eked out a 1-0 victory over Defiance (Ohio) College in the first game of a non-league softball doubleheader on March 18, 2012. Albion had to settle for a split, however, two homeruns powered Defiance to a 4-2 victory in game two.
