• A three-year cross country runner at West Ottawa High School

• While he has not declared a major, he is a memer of Albion's Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program
• Serves as vice president of Albion's Astronomy Club
• Member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and InterVarsity Christian fellowship
• Enjoys listening to music, watching movies, TV and college sports, playing video games, and collecting military artifacts
