Four runners achieve all-MIAA status

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Four Albion College cross country runners achieved all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association awards as the men's team finished as the runner up in the league's championship meet contested at the Easter Hills Golf Course.

Albion finished second in the MIAA three years in a row, its best three-year streak in the league since 2002-04.

Andrew Wittland and Adam Ditri achieved all-MIAA first team status, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively, among individual runners. Wittland completed the 8K course in 25:48.7, with Ditri trailing him by 3 ½ seconds.

Trey Cucuro and Aaron Weimer finished in the top 15 to gain all-MIAA second team awards. Cucuro was 13th (26:25.8) and Weimer was 14th (26:27.9).

Kiehl Smith completed Albion's top five, finishing 18th in 26:35.3.

Next up for the Albion runners is the NCAA Division III Regional Championship. That meet is scheduled for Nov. 10 in Shelbyville, Ind.
