Briton runners hold their own

CHICAGO – Entered in a field against Division I talent from Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State and Texas A&M, as well as some of the best from Division III, Albion College held its own in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.

While the timing system didn't record Kiehl Smith, the junior from Jonesville, Mich., was Albion's leading runner. He reached the finish in 25:36.

Andrew Wittland wasn't far behind at 25:52.

Trey Cucuro (26:09) and Adam Ditri (26:11) ran in a tight pack, and Aaron Weimer (26:35) completed Albion's top five.

Albion runners will be in action Friday in an invitational hosted by Concordia University Ann Arbor.
