Men's Track & Field wins home triangular meet

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College finished first in 10 of the 18 events and it had the top two performers in six as it celebrated a successful senior day in a triangular men's track and field meet at the Elkin Isaac Track.

Kejuan Frazier was the big winner, finishing first in the discus throw (133' 3") and shot put (49' 10 ½").

Xavier Aikens, who was second to Frazier in the discus throw, took first place in the hammer throw at 142' 9".

On the track, Cullen Cox had a nice day, leading teammate Kiehl Smith to the finish in the 400 meters and running second on the winning 4x100 relay. Richard Annorat, Markeese Boyd an dJeffrey Davis joined Cox on the relay.

Albion's best event on the track was the 1,500 meters. Chase Baumgardner was the winner (4:20.58), with Nathaniel Jennings second and D'Anthony Goodwin third.

Albion also had the top two performers in the 110 hurdles (Jephte Jean-Claude and Annorat), 5,000 meters (Andrew Wittland, Lucas Lusk) and high jump (Trevor Knowles, Annorat).

Riley Barrett also won the 100 meters for Albion.

Next up for Albion is the Wittenberg University Invitational in Springfield, Ohio, on April 19.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
