ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Viking Olympics turned out to be another good meet for the Albion College distance crew.
Kiehl Smith took first place in the 1,500 meters (4:01.45) and Aaron Weimer was the runner up in the steeplechase (9:52.97).
The jumpers got in the act, too, with Jephte Jean-Claude winning the 110 meter hurdles (15.42 seconds) and taking second in the triple jump (45' ¼"). Richard Annorat and Trevor Knowles were among those tied for fourth place in the high jump.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
