Annorat Gains Second MIAA Field Award of the Season

Albion College sophomore Richard Annorat was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in the past three weeks, Sheila Blackman, the conference's director of media relations, announced Monday.

A Lely High School product from Naples, Fla., Annorat achieved personal records in the jumping events in the Marv Frye Invitational in Delaware, Ohio, on Saturday. He took first place in the long jump, soaring 22' 1 ½", and his 44' 6 ¾" distance in the triple jump was good for second place.

He also finished fourth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6' 1 ¼", sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.74) and was part of the fourth place team in the 4x100 relay.

The triple jump Annorat achieved last Saturday is best in the MIAA by more than a foot and a half over his nearest competitor, and he's second in the conference in the long jump and high jump.

Annorat will be in competition in a meet at Ball State University on Saturday.
