Annorat's Big Day

ALMA, Mich. – Led by Richard Annorat's big day, Albion College was the top Division III team in the Charles Gray Invitational hosted by Alma College.

Lake Superior State University (150 ½) and Central Michigan University (132) fielded the top two teams, followed by Albion with 127 points.

Annorat, a sophomore from Naples, Fla., took first place in the high jump (6' 3 ¼") and triple jump (43' 2 ¼"). He also finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles and ran with Michael Harvey, Markeese Boyd and Sean Thomas on the winning 4x100 relay.

Rayshawn Robinson and Alec Badgley also produced first place performances in their respective events. Robinson achieved a personal record for first place in the javelin throw (148' 6") and he added fourth place in the triple jump and fifth place in the long jump. Badgley completed the 800 meters in 1:59.74 with teammate Adam Ditri in third.

 Coach Lance Coleman added Andrew Strzelecki produced important points with a personal record of 144' 6" in the hammer throw and Kiehl Smith, ran well placing fifth in the 400 meters and second in the 4x400 relay (with Robert Petersen, Boyd and Brant McCollum).

Albion's distance crew competed in a meet hosted by Washington University in Saint Louis, Mo., on Friday. Andrew Wittland achieved a personal best in the 10,000 meters (32.33.10).

Albion's athletes will travel to Delaware, Ohio, next weekend for the Marv Frye Invitational.
