BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Andrew Bill, a first-year runner who qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship in the fall, picked up where he left off.

Competing on an outdoor track for the first time at the Southern Invitational, Bill set the second-fastest time in Albion College history in the 5,000 meters, reaching the finish in 14:48.56.

Not to be outdone, Bill's cross country teammate Kiehl Smith produced 10 points toward Albion's team score when he completed the 800 meters in 1:57.63.

In the sprints, Michael Harvey, Sean Thomas, Markeese Boyd and Zach Osborne raced to a third-place finish in the 4x100 relay. The Britons achieved a time of 44.35 seconds.

Osborne also finished fourth in the high jump by clearing the bar at 6' ¾". He was joined in the field event scoring by Rayshawn Robinson who achieved a personal best of 41' 2 ¼" to finish seventh in the triple jump.

Albion returns to competition March 25 in the Polar Bear Invitational in Marion, Ind.
