Britons tame Nittany Lions

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Albion College won five of the singles matches to earn a 7-2 victory over Penn State University-Harrisburg in a spring break men's tennis match on Wednesday.

Josh McGarry won the No. 1 match (6-3, 6-3), Robert Joerg moved up to No. 2 in the lineup and won 6-3, 6-4 and Toma Shngoo moved up to No. 4 and won 6-3, 6-3.

Patrick Smoker was a 6-2, 3-6, 13-11 winner at No. 5 and Daniel McGarry, playing singles for the first time in a varsity match for Albion, rallied from a set down to win the No. 6 match 5-7, 6-0, 10-6.

Joerg and Daniel McGarry combined for Albion's doubles point with an 8-6 decision in the No. 3 flight.

Albion improved to 3-3 with the victory. The Britons continue spring break competition with a 3:30 p.m. Friday match against Drew University.
