Pearl Moves Singles Record To .500

ANGOLA, Ind. - Will Pearl won the No. 6 singles match in straight sets for Albion College's point in an 8-1 loss to Trine University in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's tennis match.

Pearl has won consecutive singles matches to move his season record to 7-7. He defeated Zach Howe by scores of 6-2, 6-3.

The No. 2 singles match was a classic between Albion's Zach McKenzie and Trine's Nick Cassidy. The players split the first two sets (both 7-5) and Cassidy earned the point by pulling out the tiebreaker, 15-13.

Trine won the other four singles matches in straight sets and it dropped four games in sweeping the three doubles contests.

Albion will complete the season with an April 21 match at Hope College.
