ALBION, Mich. – Ross Kynast and Will Pearl pushed their singles opponents to tie-breakers to decide the matches, but the Britons were unable to break through in a 9-0 loss to Cornerstone University.
Kynast pulled out a long second-set tiebreaker, 10-8, to extend the No. 1 singles match to a tie-breaker to decide the victor. Cornerstone's Elijah Yi hung on, 10-6, to take the point.
Pearl dominated the second set at No. 5 singles, but he did not carry the momentum to the tiebreaker.
Albion continues to play at home March 1 when it meets the University of St. Francis (Ind.).
