Guindi Scores 10th Singles Win

ALBION, Mich. – Eric Guindi pushed his singles record to 10-0 and Albion College moved to .500 for the season with an 8-1 victory over the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in a non-league men's tennis match played inside the Ungrodt Tennis Center.

Guindi defeated NathanBarger 6-3, 6-1 at the top of the singles lineup. He has won eight matches in straight sets this season, including the last three.

Guindi helped set the tone for the afternoon when he joined Jonathan Gurnee for a 9-8 win at the top of the doubles lineup. The Britons eked out a tiebreaker, 9-7, to earn the point.

Albion's other doubles teams – Steve Nawrocki and Will Pearl and Ross Kynast and Troy Pozolo – had easier times in winning their matches.

Gurnee, Kynast, Nawrocki and Zach McKenzie also won their singles matches in straight sets.

It will be matches against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals from here on for Albion. The league contests begin Friday with a home match against Adrian College.
