The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Albion's Eric Guindi its Player of the Week in men's tennis for matches played through March 16.
Guindi, a sophomore from Plymouth who prepped Detroit Catholic Central High School, won all three of his matches at No. 1 singles and took two out of three at No. 1 doubles for the Britons as they posted a 2-1 record on their spring trip. He took a three-set victory against Baldwin Wallace, Ohio, 6-3, 5-7, 10-5, and posted straight-set wins over Dickinson, Pa., 6-2, 6-2 and Catholic, D.C., 6-1, 6-1. He also teamed up with Jonathan Gurnee for an 8-5 doubles win against Dickinson and a 9-7 win over Catholic.
Guindi, who is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and in his career, is a perfect 9-0 in singles this season.
