Eric Burris, who achieved Division 3 and Zone Coach of the Year awards at Chelsea High School, joined the Albion College swimming & diving coaching staff in the fall of 2015.

Burris coached state champion divers in 2014 and 2015, another diver finished third in 2015 and two were All-Americans in 2015. In addition, Chelsea divers finished with MHSAA runner-up awards three times, 10 gained All-State status, and 12 were South Eastern Conference champions.

At Albion, his divers have earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Diver awards every year since 2016 in addition to three All-America and six honorable mention All-America finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships.

A 1996 graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Burris started coaching varsity and middle school divers in Chelsea in 1988. He has also served as coach and president of the Dexter Diving Club from 1992-99, as an age group coach for divers in the Bulldog Diving/Chelsea Aquatic Club (1989-91, and 2005-present) and at the Ann Arbor Country Club (1992-02), and as coach to varsity and middle school divers in Dexter (1991-02).
