Albion secures dual meet victory over Alma

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College won all but two events Saturday in earning a 169-70 victory over Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's swimming and diving dual meet.

Albion enjoyed the opportunity to enter swimmers in different events than usual. Drew Fogel was the only swimmer to take first place in multiple events, winning the distance freestyle events.

Diver Jake Burris celebrated senior day by earning 596.40 points in the 1-meter competition (to break the school and pool records for 11 dives) and 351.10 to improve on his school record in the 3-meter. Along the way on his 1-meter set, Burris improved on his school record score for six dives, while also breaking the pool record.

Winning individual events for the Britons were Erik Halboth (100 backstroke), Jake Huttenlocher (100 breaststroke), Matt Anderson (200 butterfly), Ian Moran (50 freestyle), Tommy Trueax (100 freestyle), Robbie Hagner (200 backstroke), Connor Robertson (200 breaststroke), Evan Wonner (100 butterfly) and Noah Mitchell (200 individual medley).

Albion will compete at home for the final time this season Jan. 19 when it dives into the Dean Aquatic Center for a 1 p.m. dual meet against Wabash College.
