Swimmers take runner up finish at Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Nate Kozycki (100-yard butterfly) and Jake Burris (3-meter diving) achieved first place in their respective events as Albion College finished second out of five teams assembled for a two-day meet at Calvin College.

Albion gave Calvin a great race in the 800 freestyle relay. Jake Huttenlocher, Mac Robertson, Drew Fogel and Tommy Trueax finished in 7:07.28. That was .18 seconds off the pace set by Calvin.

Huttenlocher also finished a ½ second out of first place in the 200 breaststroke. Huttenlocher also joined Evan Wonner, Kozycki and Len Ciemniecki for a second place performance in the 400 freestyle relay.

"We swam a lot of season best times and I was very happy with the meet," Head Coach Nick Stone said. "This time of year isn't supposed to be about fast swimming, but figuring it out for end of the season at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. The team has shown a lot of improvement and focus on those little race details and it's showing in their performances."
