CHICAGO, Ill. – Albion College diver Jake Burris is closing in on his third trip to the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship with a runner-up finish in the 1-meter competition Friday night.
Burris finished with a 456.40 total, finishing 67 ½ points behind Heath Ogawa (Lake Forest College).
Burris achieved awards of 50.70 on his forward 2 ½ somersault and reverse 1 ½ somersault, 1 ½ twist.
Teammate Jacob Mauer finished 12th with a 402.90 total. He was just four points out of reaching the top 10.
The 3-meter competition is scheduled for tomorrow.
