Britons finish second in 800 free relay

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Albion College shaved nearly a second off the time it set in winning the 800-yard freestyle relay a year ago, but this time it finished second on the opening night of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships.

Despite diving in without Derek Bosko and Sebastian Tostado, two of the top freestyle swimmers in the history of the league, the Britons still finished the race in 6:47.11.

Jake Huttenlocher completed the leadoff leg in 1:42.45. He was followed by Nate Kozycki (1:40.83), Mac Robertson (1:42.72) and Parker Belmore (1:41.11).

Thursday events include the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relays and individual swims in the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle. The men will also compete in 3-meter diving.
