ALBION MEN'S SOCCER 2021 season preview

After a tough season in the spring, the Albion College men's soccer team is looking to build off one of the biggest upsets in program history to carry momentum into this fall. With a normal schedule set, Albion will bring back plenty of players with both talent and experience.

Wytse Molenaar is back for his sixth year as the head coach at Albion. In the abbreviated spring, Molenaar saw Jason Warras earn All-MIAA honors. Senior Chad Martin took home the prestigious Dr. Marvin A. Zuidema Award.

THE RETURNERS

All-MIAA pick Jason Warras is back for the Britons. In just six games, Warras tallied three goals -- including two in the season opener against Olivet.

After suffering a devastating injury early on, center back Zabith Wilson is ready to return for the Brits. Wilson brings experience and speed to the back line for Albion. His presence back on the field will bolster the Britons immensely.

Senior midfielder Spencer Moeggenberg is a valuable piece to Albion's squad. A starter in all six matches last season, Moeggenberg looks to cap off his career with a memorable senior year.

Providing Albion with an immediate impact as a freshman, Grady Lycan prepares for a stellar sophomore season. He started all six matches for the Britons a year ago and can provide depth up top and on the wing.

Albion begins the season on Sept. 1 at Illinois Tech -- their first nonconference match in nearly two years. The men's soccer team holds the first home game of the year, when they welcome Carroll to town on Sept. 5.
