Coleman completes career with MIAA men's soccer award

Sam Coleman, a senior in the midfield from Northfield, Minn., represented the Albion College men's soccer program as the recipient of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Marvin Zuidema Award.

The Zuidema award is presented to a four-year letterwinner who demonstrates team play, leadership qualities and ethical virtues and excellence in academics and athletics.

A psychology major and geology minor at Albion, Coleman's resume includes more than 250 hours of community service as a mentor to students at Harrington Elementary School in Albion, as a volunteer to local youth soccer players and as a member of a Global Medical Brigades relief trip to Nicaragua.

On the field, Coleman was a starter in all 16 matches during the 2018 season. He was credited with an assist as the Britons played to a draw against MIAA rival Hope College in October.
