Men's Soccer falls on MIAA opening night

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College paid for its defensive mistakes in a 2-0 loss to Trine University on the opening night of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer action.

With shots at a premium – the teams combined for only six shots on goal in the contest – any mistake was amplified. Albion goalkeeper Maximilian Loria was caught far away from the goal and Nooh Alabaly and Connor Malmquist took advantage with the goals for Trine.

Meanwhile, Albion was unable to work the ball through the middle of the field. The Britons tried long passes to the forwards, but they were unable to sustain much possession. Trine also wisely sent two men to defend the ball to slow the Briton attack.

Dakota Clapper and Christian Hurtado were credited with the Albion shots on goal.

Albion (5-3-2 overall) travels to Alma College for a MIAA match on Saturday.
