Spratte scores in men's soccer setback

CHICAGO, Ill. – Albion College understood it would face a stern test against a North Park University side that reached the NCAA Division III championship game last season.

North Park earned a 3-1 result in the non-league contest. The Vikings finished with a 20-3 advantage in shots, including 10-3 in shots on goal.

Albion cut the deficit to 2-1 when first-year midfielder Alex Spratte collected his third goal of the season early in the second half.

North Park responded right away – 25 seconds later, in fact – as Peder Olsen struck a line drive in the net for the final goal of the night.

Shatil Khoury produced a goal and assist for the Vikings.

Albion, 4-2-2 overall, will play its final non-league match Tuesday, Sept. 25. The Britons will host Carthage (Wis.) College for a 5 p.m. kickoff at the Davis Athletic Complex.
