Conley Voted to Division III Team of the Week

ALBION, Mich. – This week, sophomore attackman Jace Conley added another accolade
to his already impressive resume. Conley, along with nine other Division III lacrosse
players, were voted to the 2020 USILA/Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week for
their remarkable performances. Joining him were athletes from Randolph-Macon
College, Southwestern University, Salisbury University, Guilford College, and York
College (Pa.). Last year, York (Pa.) and Salisbury seasons' were both ended by Cabrini
University, the 2019 Division III champions.
The Waterford-native is one of just two sophomores to be honored this week. Conley was
humble upon hearing the news laughing, " Honestly, I wasn't expecting this at all." He
modestly continued, "I just want to thank my team for playing a solid game and sharing
the ball around on offense."
The second-year attacker notched eight points (6g, 2a) on February 8 th , 2020 in a 18-16
victory over The College of Wooster of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).
Conley's performance marks the fourth time he's scored at least five goals and the fifth
time he's registered at least five points.
"Jace has been really working on his game this year and I think he has shown that he can
create problems for other teams," explains Head Coach Jake DeCola. "His focus on
making the next play is what keeps him a difference maker. He certainly is a selfless
player, and his teammates love him for that."
The Orchard Lake St. Mary's alum is no stranger to success on the field. As a freshman,
Conley recorded 59 points (47g, 12a) earning him the honor of the Michigan
Intercollegiate Athletic Association Rookie of the Year and an all-MIAA first team
selection. His 47-goal season is the fifth-highest in program history for a single season,
sitting below two former United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)
Honorable Mention All-Americans. Conley also holds Albion's record for points in a
game with 12 (7g, 5a) against Adrian College last April.
Conley and the Britons will suit-up for more non-conference action as they square-off
against Augustana Colleg (Ill.). Game time is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 th at
the Detroit Country Day School.
