Britons Awarded on Both Sides of the Ball

The Albion Men's Lacrosse team has swept the MIAA player of the week awards. Sophomore Jace Conley was awarded offensive player of the week while sophomore Fernando Robson was awarded defensive player of the week.

The Britons played their season opener Saturday at home against The College of Wooster. After being down 4-2 at the end of the first quarter, Albion's offense scored seven goals in the second quarter to take a halftime lead before eventually winning by a score of 18-16.

Conley displayed peak accuracy by scoring six goals on six shots. The 2019 All-MIAA first team attacker also added two assists.

Robison came up with 14 ground balls, six more than anyone else in the game. He also scored a goal on four shots.

Albion's next game is scheduled for Saturday, February 15 when the Britons face Augustana College.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu
