Albion takes road victory over Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Collin Bowers and Jace Conley each scored twice in the second quarter as Albion College pulled away for a 21-4 victory Kalamazoo College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse action.

It was Albion's fourth win in a row. The Britons (6-7 overall, 4-0 MIAA) will travel to Hope College for a Tuesday contest that will decide sole possession of first place in the MIAA.

Albion shutout Kalamazoo, 7-0, in the second quarter. The Britons went on to outscore Kalamazoo, 8-2, in the second half.

Conley scored six goals and collected eight groundballs, both career-highs for the first-year attackman from Waterford, Mich.

Bowers also reached a career high with four goals.

Drew Harm reached a season-high with four goals.

Alec Palmer chipped in with two goals and an assist, Gerald Haadsma added a goal and three assists and Matt Chen and Noah Dailey-Chwalinbog added a goal apiece.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
