ELMHURST, Ill. – Elmhurst College went on a 7-0 run over a four-minute span of the second quarter to pull away for a 24-12 victory over Albion College in non-league men's lacrosse action Thursday night.

The teams traded goals for the first 10 minutes of the contest. Jace Conley scored twice and Drew Harm produced his second goal of the season as Albion and Elmhurst were tied, 3.3.

Elmhurst took the lead for good as Marcus Yandall scored twice and Trent Nyberg added one to make the score 6-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Collin Bowers scored the first goal of the second quarter to pull Albion within two, but that was as close as the Britons would get as Elmhurst scored the next seven.

Conley scored on all three of his shots on goal. Bowers and Alec Palmer both added two goals and an assist, and Harm chipped in with two goals.

Gerald Haadsma, Jacob Swift and Tyler Vliek also scored goals for Albion.

Ty Funderburk led Elmhurst with six goals. Yandall finished with five goals and four assists, while Mac Harden chipped in with five goals and two assists.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu.
