Britons fall in season's first men's lacrosse contest

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – Carthage College scored its goals in bunches to earn a 15-10 victory over Albion College in a non-league men's lacrosse contest played at Detroit Country Day School.

Ethan Flight scored a goal and assisted on another as Carthage ripped off four in a row to take a 4-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Jacob Swift and Collin Bowers scored goals as Albion cut the deficit to 4-3 midway through the second quarter.

Flight scored three goals and Brody Ilstrup added another as Carthage extended the margin to 8-3 and it was an uphill climb for Albion from that point on.

Swift contributed three goals and an assist for Albion. Bowers finished with two goals and three assists. Jace Conley and Scott Shepard added two goals apiece.

Albion is scheduled to return to Detroit Country Day on Saturday for a non-league game against Otterbein (Ohio) University.
