Britons Bow Out Of NCAA Tournament

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Declan O'Grady scored six times in the first half as John Carroll University built a 9-3 halftime lead and held on for a 14-9 victory over Albion College in a NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship first round game.

Alec Palmer and Drew Harm scored in the first three minutes of the second half as Albion cuts the deficit to 9-5, but John Carroll never let the Britons get within four.

Palmer finished with two goals and an assist to complete his first year at the collegiate level with 33 points (23 goals and 10 assists). Harm tacked on two goals, leaving him with 40 goals to tie him with Cameron Braun for fifth-most in a season at Albion.

Zach Hubbell, one of three seniors who played for the final time at the collegiate level, scored a goal. He finished his Albion career with 124 goals and 50 assists for 174 points. He stands third on Albion's all-time list for goals and points.

Dominic Hamper and Paul Johnson were Albion's other two seniors.

Nicolas Bowman (a goal and three assists), John Cooke (goal and assist) and Harrison Palmer (goal) also scored for the Britons.

Albion, three-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions, set the school record for wins in a season, finishing at 15-4.
