Men's Lacrosse Storms Past Calvin

ALBION, Mich. – Harrison Palmer scored three goals and his brothers Alec and Chase were two of the six players who scored two goals apiece as Albion College stormed to a 20-5 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Calvin College in men's lacrosse action at the Davis Athletic Complex.

Calvin took the early lead – Michael Winkler scored two minutes into the contest – and it stood up for more than an hour as lightning forced a delay.

Albion asserted itself as soon as play resumed as John Cooke, Dominic Hamper, Drew Harm and Harrison Palmer scored in a span of six minutes.

Albion led 5-2 at the end of the first quarter, 12-3 at halftime and 16-4 at the end of the third quarter.

Alec Palmer added four assists to put six points on the deck. Zach Hubbell and Scott Shepard added four points apiece with two goals and two assists. Nicolas Bowman, Hamper and Harm added two goals and an assist.

Cody Davis and Brandon Lebioda also scored goals for the Britons.

Albion, winners of four in a row to improve to 10-3 overall and 4-0 against MIAA rivals, continues its three-game homestand Saturday with a noon contest against Trine University.
