Hubbell Climbs Albion Career Scoring Ladder

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Zach Hubbell scored two first quarter goals to move into third place on the Albion College men's lacrosse all-time points list as the Britons defeated Augustana College, 13-5, in a non-league contest Saturday afternoon.

A senior who prepped at Haslett High School, Hubbell has produced 107 goals and 41 assists for 148 points in his career. He moved past Joel Hedemark, '15, who finished his Albion career with 146 points (45 goals, 101 assists).

Albion led 8-0, scoring seven times in the first quarter and adding another 13 seconds into the second. Harrison Palmer scored twice in the first and tacked on another in the third to complete his first hat trick of the season and the second of his career.

Kyle DeCamp and Drew Harm scored two goals apiece for Albion and Brandon Lebioda put three points on the deck with a goal and two assists. DeCamp also won 13-of-15 face-off chances.

Goalkeepers Trevor McManus and Brandon Tata combined to collect 11 saves.

Albion has won its last four to improve to 6-2 on the year. The Britons have one more non-league test remaining – a date on the road against an 8-1 Aurora (Ill.) University squad next Saturday – before beginning defense of its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship with an April 8 home date against Kalamazoo College.
