Albion Rallies For MLAX Victory

ELMHURST, Ill. – Jacob Swift scored with four minutes left to lift Albion College to an 8-7 victory over Elmhurst College in non-league men's lacrosse action.

It was the third win in a row for Albion, which improved to 5-2 on the season. The Britons have two more non-league tests on the road – at Augustana (Ill.) College next Saturday and at Aurora (Ill.) University April 1 – before beginning defense of their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship April 8 with a home game against Kalamazoo College.

Swift's first goal of the day – with 1:10 left in the second quarter – cut the Elmhurst lead to 5-2.

The Blue Jays scored twice in a minute to take a 7-3 lead late in the third quarter.

Alec Palmer scored twice (in the final minute of the third quarter and 31 seconds into the fourth) to ignite the Albion rally. John Cooke tacked on his second goal of the day and Drew Harm scored off Brandon Lebioda's pass as Albion drew even with five minutes left.

Albion dominated the hustle statistics, as Kyle DeCamp's dominance on the face-off helped the Britons finish with a 37-19 edge in ground balls.
