ALBION, Mich. – Albion College regained its scoring touch just in time Wednesday night.

Drew Harm and Zach Hubbell scored goals in the final two minutes as the Britons escaped with a 7-6 victory over John Carroll University in a non-league men's lacrosse game played in frigid conditions on the new Alumni Field inside the Davis Athletic Complex.

Albion led 5-2 on Brandon Lebioda's second goal of the night midway through the third quarter.

Albion struggled to maintain possession from that point, which put pressure on the defense led by Brian Griffiths, Paul Johnson and Matt Lowes and goalkeeper Trevor McManus. McManus finished with 14 saves to help Albion survive despite having nine fewer shots in the contest.

McManus made a pair of saves while Albion was a man down in the third quarter, but MacGregor Roberts broke through with 1:13 left in the third.

Declan O'Grady scored early in the fourth and Connor Pike scored twice in a three-minute span to boost John Carroll to a 6-5 lead with 1:49 remaining.

Gary Anile won the ground ball on the face-off after John Carroll went ahead, but goalkeeper Kyle Lake turned the ball over while Albion pressed on the ride. John Cooke found Harm for the equalizer.

"I knew we needed an experienced guy out there. John Cooke and Dominic Hamper were involved in a great ride-back opportunity," Head Coach Jake DeCola said "We felt like we could press on the ride and get some results."

Kyle DeCamp won the ensuing ground ball off the face-off which led to Hubbell's game-winner. It was Hubbell's fourth goal of the night, giving him 12 for the season and 105 for his career at Albion.

Next up for Albion (4-2 overall) is a Saturday non-league date at Elmhurst College.
