ALBION, Mich. - Albion College wanted to make its debut on the new Alumni Field inside the Davis Athletic Complex a memorable occasion.

The Britons came out with energy as they outscored Otterbein University 10-3 in the second and third quarters to pull away for a 15-7 victory in the non-league contest.

"It's great to start with a clean record in our new place," Head Coach Jake DeCola said. "The guys love playing in there and we wanted to protect the house. Everything we've been working on came together pretty well today."

Zach Hubbell and Drew Harm tacked on extra man goals and Kyle DeCamp scored after a face-off win as Albion built a 6-3 lead three minutes into the second quarter. Hubbell and John Cooke scored late in the quarter as Albion held an 8-4 lead at halftime.

Cooke and Hubbell struck for two goals apiece and Jacob Swift gained his first collegiate goal in the third quarter.

Hubbell finished the day with a career-high eight points with six goals and two assists. DeCola added Dominic Hamper (two assists) and Brandon Lebioda valued the offensive possessions and protected the ball.

DeCamp kept Albion in possession of the ball for most of the day, winning 18-of-24 face-offs, and goalkeeper Trevor McManus shined with 17 saves.

"A lot of credit goes to defenders Dave Brown and Matt Lowes and Trevor for holding a pretty good team to seven," DeCola said. "Anytime we do that it puts us in a position to win."
