Michalos off to good start in MIAA Fall Finale

LANSING, Mich. – Soti Michalos shot a season-best 73 Friday as Albion College started the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association fall finale with a season-best 310 total.

Michalos was tied for the third-best round of the day.

Justin Kapke (77) and John Slivka (78) also shot in the 70s for the Britons, and Jack Welke (82) completed the team score.

Albion was fifth in the team standings. Trine University (290) turned in the low score of the day. The Thunder was followed by Hope College (299), Calvin University (302) and Kalamazoo College (309).

Adrian College (311), Alma College (317) and Olivet College (335) rounded out the team scores.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
