Grand Rapids, Mich. - Three straight MIAA road games and three consecutive wins for the Albion College men's basketball team. Back to full strength after missing Quinton Armstrong for the midweek game against Olivet, the Britons pulled off another big road win 75-66 over Calvin University. The game featured three of the top ten scorers in MIAA play but was a defensive battle from start to finish. The win moves Albion to 18-2 overall and 8-0 in conference play. 

After jumping out to an early 8-2 lead, Albion found themselves in a back and forth game the rest of the first half. Calvin University sent double teams at juniors Caden Ebeling (23) and Quinton Armstrong (6) every time they touched the ball, and the MIAA leaders struggled to find a rhythm. The Britons finished the first half with 26 points, their lowest-scoring first half since their season-opening loss to Mount Union. 

Jamezell Davis Jr. (16) finished the first with 14 points to keep Albion within striking distance at 26-29 going into halftime. Contributing to the halftime deficit, the Britons found themselves trailing on the glass 18-24 and losing the turnover battle 8-7. 

All season this team has found ways to grind out victories, and this game would be no different. Albion came out attacking the paint in the second half, and after taking the lead with 16:41 to go, they never looked back.  

Caden Ebeling and Cortez Garland (17) led the charge with 36 2nd half points combined, nearly outscoring Calvin University by themselves. Garland, the sophomore from Detroit, finished the 2nd half with 15 points and three assists. Ebeling had 21 points and four rebounds in the 2nd stanza. 

Juwan Perry had a huge second half, including a crucial sequence when he scored seven of nine Albion points to stretch the lead to 8 with just over 8 minutes to go. The junior wing finished the game with seven points and four rebounds. 

Albion held on by making free throws and getting in the paint. The Britons finished the game 23-26 from the charity stripe, including 18-20 in the 2nd half. Albion added 34 points in the paint on Ebeling post-ups, and Garland drives to keep the Knights on their heels. 

Quinton Armstrong finished the game with a balanced stat line of six points, seven rebounds, and five assists for a career-high in assists. 

The Britons host the Hope College Dutchmen on Wednesday, February 5th, at 7:30 PM in Kresge Gymnasium. The Britons won the first matchup in Holland, MI 84-70. Hope currently sits at 12-7 overall and 4-4 in the MIAA.

• Jamezell Davis added 2 more 3's and sits 2nd in the MIAA for made 3's with 53. Jordan Harris of Adrian College is first with 55 made 3's. 

• The Britons shot 23-23 from the FT line for their 3rd consecutive game at 90%+ from the FT line.

• This is Albion's 11th consecutive victory and the longest streak since the 2004-05 team won their first 14 games en route to a 26-4 season and 12-2 first-place finish in the MIAA.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
