ALBION, Mich. - A layup by Caden Ebeling 22 seconds into the game, and Albion never looked back. "We got the ball inside a few times early on. Jamezell Davis Jr. had a couple of three's early on that got us going. They did a great job of throwing the ball inside while mixing it up with Jamezell on the perimeter" Head Coach Jody May Said. With the largest lead of 32, the Britons stormed to an 84-62 over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponent Adrian. Albion continues to maintain an undefeated record in-conference, after their fifth win in a row.

"You have to stay hungry. I told them the other day at practice that the easy part is getting to number one in the league, and the hard part is staying there," said Jody May.

It was another dominating performance on the boards for Albion as they win the rebound battle 40-29. Spreading the ball led to five players in double figures. Jamezell Davis Jr. led the five with 17 points while adding four steals on the defensive end.

The Britons were strong off the bench scoring 33 points that were led by MJ Barnes (12) and Juwan Perry (10). The Britons will face a long road ahead with three road games that starts in Angola, Indiana, versus Trine University.

The last time Albion traveled to Angola was for the 2019 MIAA Tournament, where they came out victorious after defeating Olivet in the semi-final and Trine in the championship. Both Trine and Albion will be undefeated in league play going into Saturday's 3 PM matchup.

Jody May won't let the past dictate how they prepare for their next matchup. "The last couple of years we have had some battles. Albion and Trine were picked number one and two in the league, so we know what we are getting into when we go down there. Coach Miller does a great job coaching them, and they have got some talented guys."

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu
