TIFFIN, Ohio – It was up to Jamezell Davis, Jr. to carry the Albion College men's basketball team in overtime after the frontcourt duo of Quinton Armstrong and Caden Ebeling had done its work through regulation.

Davis buried a 3-point basket to put the Britons ahead and Armstrong's second chance basket boosted Albion to an 83-80 lead, and the Britons survived as Heidelberg University misfired on three tries from beyond the arc to tie the score.

Armstrong finished with 22, matching the career high he set against Ohio Wesleyan back on Nov. 15. He was 11-of-18 from the field. He stuffed the box score with nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

Ebeling chipped in with 19 points and 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. He was 6-of-9 from the field and 7-of-10 from the free throw line.

Davis scored 10 of his 16 points in overtime. He added seven rebounds and four assists.

Juwan Perry was Albion's other double figure scorer, finishing with 11. He grabbed a career high eight rebounds and dished out three assists.

Albion trailed by eight with six minutes left in regulation. Albion forged a tie at 63 behind three baskets by Armstrong and one from Ebeling. Neither team led by more than three from that point on.

Albion, winners of four in a row to push its record to 4-1, will play at home Sunday when the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology visits Kresge Gymnasium for a 3 o'clock tip.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu
