Collins shoots Albion past Alma

ALBION, Mich. – Nathaniel Collins knocked down a bunch of 3-point shots while playing the role of Kyle Wooruff, Alma College's scoring leader, as a member of the scout team in practice on Friday.

Collins, an Albion College senior, hit 4-of-5 from 3-point range in the second half Saturday to lead the Britons to a 88-77 victory over their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival at Kresge Gymnasium.

Collins finished with 20 points, a season-high and one shy of his career-high set against Alma last February.

"I really enjoyed it," Albion Head Coach Jody May said of Collins' performance. "Shooters have to have confidence."

Steven Harvey scored six points to lead Alma on a 8-0 run to start the second half as the Scots took a 48-47 lead.

MJ Barnes and Collins scored on consecutive possessions as Albion took a 55-51 lead with 14 ½ minutes left and never trailed again.

Caden Ebeling scored five in a row and Collins added a 3-point basket as Albion extended the margin to 68-58 with 8 ½ minutes remaining.
