ALBION, Mich. – The Albion College men's basketball team boasts a 12-5 record in part because it has refused to lose consecutive games.
The Britons bounced back from its first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association setback of the season on Wednesday with a 69-60 decision over Calvin College at Kresge Gymnasium.
Energized by another engaged group of student supporters, Jaylin Fordham knocked down a pair of 3-point baskets, ArShawn Parker contributed five points and Caden Ebeling scored a pair of baskets in the lane as Albion ripped off a 15-2 run in the second half and never looked back.
Ebeling and Fordham finished with 22 points each for the Britons.
"I'm most excited for this win as any as we've had this season," Albion Head Coach Jody May said. "It was an unbelievable team win. Calvin is hard to beat.
"The guys didn't play with a lot of energy in the first half," he added. "We could not have done it without the students."
Of Note
- Ebeling achieved his third 20-point game of the season. He was 9-of-17 from the field. He stuffed the box score with six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal.
"Caden has gained confidence in his ability to score down low," May added. "Trine and Calvin went 1-on-1 in the post, and our big guys have confidence to score and it puts pressure on our opponent (to decide whether to defend the frontcourt or backcourt)."
- Fordham has two 20-points games this season and nine for his career. He was 9-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range
- Albion has committed less than 10 turnovers in three of its six MIAA games. Albion's seven turnovers against Calvin were its second-fewest in a game this season. Albion turned it over six times in the Jan. 9 victory at Alma.
- Albion knocked down 8-of-16 shots from 3-point range. It was Albion's highest shooting percentage since hitting 50 percent in the Dec. 28 victory over Grove City (Pa.) College.

Albion (5-1 MIAA) will complete the first round of league action with a Wednesday night game at Hope College.
