Cold shooting Britons bounced at home

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College shot 37 percent from the field – its second-worst game of the season – as it absorbed a 77-58 loss to North Central College in non-league men's basketball action inside Kresge Gymnasium Monday night.

Jack Bronec and Connor Raridon combined for 15 points as North Central forged a 22-12 lead midway through the first half.

Nathaniel Collins knocked down two baskets and he added a pair of free throws to pull Albion within four, 27-23, with eight minutes remaining in the first half.

Albion seized its only lead of the night when Jamezell Davis, Jr. finished a fast break layup to make the score 33-31 with three minutes left in the first half.

North Central scored the next four – Matt Cappelletti made the first of two shots from the line and Blaise Meredith added a 3-point basket – and it never trailed again.

North Central went on a 13-0 run in the second half to gain a 55-42 lead. Raridon started the rally with two layups and Meredith capped it with a pair of 3-point baskets.

Of Note

  • Albion sophomore Caden Ebeling completed his first double-double at the collegiate level with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He scored on 9-of-12 shots from the field.
  • Collins scored all 12 of his points in the first half. He was 4-of-8 from the field in the first half, but he was limited to just one shot in the second half.
  • Jaylin Fordham chipped in with 10 points and a team-high four assists.

Albion, 5-3 overall, departs for the Chicago area tomorrow ahead of a Wednesday afternoon contest at Aurora University.
