Jamezell Davis, Jr. received the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week award of his Albion College men's basketball career on Monday.

The sophomore guard from Ypsilanti, Mich., scored a career-high 18 points in non-league games against Case Western Reserve University and Earlham College over the weekend.

Davis scored 16 of Albion's last 17 points, including a game-winning 3-point basket with 30 seconds left, to lift the Britons to the 69-66 victory over Earlham on Sunday.

He stuffed the box score with six steals and four assists in the 89-80 loss to Case Western Reserve on Friday.

In the two games, Davis shot 50 percent (13-of-26) from the field, 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from 3-point range and he made all five of his free throw attempts.

Albion will play its next three games at home, starting with a Friday night contest against Capital (Ohio) University. The tip, scheduled for 8 p.m., will follow a 6 o'clock contest between Trine (Ind.) University and Kenyon (Ohio) College.
