Men's Basketball dropped on opening night

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Michael Hollis produced an old fashioned three-point play, Brady Flynn hit a jumper and Antonio Ionadi hit from three-point range as Case Western ripped off an 8-0 run to build a double digit lead in the second half and the Spartans went on to score an 89-80 victory over Albion College in non-league men's basketball action.

Albion trailed by three, 53-50, when ArShawn Parker scored a layup with 15 minutes left in regulation.

Albion shot 48 percent from the field for the game, but it misfired three times during the Case Western run.

The Britons got as close as six on a basket by Jamezell Davis, Jr. with 9 ½ minutes to play, but that was as close as they would get.

Davis led Albion with 18 points, a career high. He stuffed the box score with six steals and four assists.

Davis was joined in double figures by Jaylin Fordham (15), ArShawn Parker (13) and Juwan Perry (11).

Hollis and Ignas Masiulionis scored 23 points apiece for Case Western.

Albion will complete the opening weekend of the season with a Sunday afternoon game at Earlham College.
