Blanzy, Fabry represent Albion as all-region picks

Kicker Andrew Fabry and tight end Brian Blanzy represent Albion College as the D3football.com released its all-North Region team Tuesday morning.

Both student-athletes are seniors who prepped at Grosse Pointe South High School and were voted to the all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association first team in November.

Fabry was good on 10-of-11 field goal chances, placing him in a tie for third among Division III kickers at 91 percent for the season. His longest of the season – 41 yards – and two field goals in overtime, helped Albion escape with a 37-34 victory over MIAA rival Alma College.

Blanzy led Albion's receiving corps with 662 yards and eight touchdowns. His 93-yard play against Olivet College when he hauled in a pass from Kyle Thomas at midfield, shed a tackle and went in for the touchdown is tied for the eighth-longest reception in Division III this season.

Albion finished the season with a 7-3 overall record and 4-3 in games against MIAA rivals.
